Mission Opportunity: Sango Well Digging

"Sango" means "God sent" or "savior of the people."

In many communities in Cameroon, clean drinking water is a challenge. In some places, women and children walk up to two hours a day just to get potable water. Digging a community water well provides life-giving drinking water and dramatically reduces time and effort spent to collect the water.

For the past seven years, church member Valantine Che has been traveling to Cameroon at least once each year. During his visits, he funds and oversees the installation of at least one water well in a local Cameroonian village. Depending on the specific area, it generally takes between $5,000 and $7,000 to dig and complete a finished water well.

Valantine Che plans to return to Cameroon on June 7, 2025, and install an additional water well for a community in need. Our congregation has the opportunity to partner with Valantine, assisting him to raise the funds necessary to finance the building of a well. If you would like to make a special donation for this effort, you can give to the church and simply label it on your check, envelope, or in the memo/note space through the online giving page and write "for well digging." You can also donate online here.
